On February the 3rd 2023, Grammar House Education, along with Quranic Insights and GRT team, arrived in Turkiye with the intention of distributing aid and support to Syrian refugees who had fled their homeland after the war.
One of the places we visited was the Imam Ebu Hanife Kur’an Kursu, an education centre dedicated to teaching Qur’an and Islamiyah Studies to Syrian refugees.

The centre provided education to over 850 students, whose ages ranged from 5 years old to 18 years old.

We listened to these students recite Qur’an and handed out gifts to those who had memorised portions of the Qur’an; some had memorised one juz; some had memorised two ajza; while others had memorised half of the Qur’an.

Little did we know, that a few days later we would return to find the centre reduced to rubble.
Over 120 of the children we met have since been confirmed dead as a result of the earthquake, with many more still unaccounted for.

Whilst we have full conviction that these children will be raised as not only martyrs, but also as those who had memorised Qur’an, we nevertheless feel a great sense of grief and loss.
It is for this reason we would like to raise funds to rebuild a similar centre where the Imam Ebu Hanife Kur’an Kursu stood. And with the help of Allah, we intend to do this through our Charity Tuition Programme.
100% of the money raised from our Charity Tuition Programme will be donated towards this project. Be part of something great and help rebuild a similar education centre in Turkiye in the memory of these children.
